2016 Academy Award winning screenwriter Charles Randolph (THE BIG SHORT) will be joining the Toronto Screenwriting Conference for an in-depth interview with film critic Richard Crouse to talk adaptation, craft, and his approach to bringing real stories to the big screen.

The interview will be followed by a 15 minute Q&A with the audience.

Christopher Cantwell was born in Chicago, but in the early ’80s his father moved the family to Dallas in order to pursue career opportunities in the computer business. Cantwell is an alum of the USC School of Cinematic Arts screenwriting program and has also worked as a creative director for The Walt Disney Company.

HALT AND CATCH FIRE marks but one collaboration with writing partner Christopher C. Rogers. Cantwell currently lives in Claremont with his wife, published poet Elizabeth Cantwell, their son, Cooper and their dog, Albee.

Richard Crouse is the regular film critic for CTV’s Canada AM, the 24 hour news source CTV’s News Channel and CP24. In 2011 he hosted IN SHORT, a series of eight hour long show showcasing BravoFact’s best short films. He was the host of REEL TO REAL, Canada’s longest running television show about movies, from 1998 to 2008 and is a frequent guest on many national Canadian radio and television shows. His syndicated Saturday afternoon radio show, The Richard Crouse Show, originates on News Talk 1010 in Toronto. He is also the author of six books on pop culture history including Who Wrote the Book of Love, the best-selling The 100 Best Movies You’ve Never Seen, its sequel The Son of the 100 Best Movies You’ve Never Seen, the bestselling Raising Hell: Ken Russell and the Unmaking of The Devils and Elvis is King: Costello’s My Aim is True. He also writes a weekly column for Metro newspaper.
